WiC Wireless vs. Popular Cables vs. Wireless System by Another Brand

Let’s be honest… A lot of time we buy with our eyes and not with our ears. Many of us will buy audio device just buy reading the spec sheet and watching few videos, and that is OK. Trying out a wireless system in store is next to impossible. Some music stores won’t even let you try it out because they don’t want to break the seal. Well, there are no special seals on the WiC product and we truly want you to hear the WiC compared to other systems and cables. This is why we decided to do a simple blind test. Below is a audio recording that features WiC Wireless System for Guitar, WiC ELF, two popular instrument cables and a popular Wireless System from another brand. Each track is about 20 seconds long. Please listen and reply back with a list of your most favorites to your least favorite tracks.

Special thanks to our good friend Colin Campbell of Strange Fiction who did this recording for us.

Studio Set Up:

Simple 20 second guitar track was recorded using Fender Fender Jazzmaster American Vintage Reissue with 15 foot Mogami Cable into Universal Audio Apollo Audio Interface and into Avid Pro Tools.

The recording from Pro Tools was fed into Radial Reamp Box into a sweet 15W all tube guitar amp with 12″ Celestion Speakers that Colin built. The output level from the Reamp box was matched to the output level of the guitar.

The five tracks were recorder using (between Reamp and amp): WiC Wireless System for Guitar, WiC ELF, two popular instrument cables and a popular Wireless System from another brand. The amp was mic’d with Shure 57 and recorder into Pro Tools thru Apollo.
